In an effort to improve and maintain our rich 25+ year history of gathering and providing recently published inter-disciplinary citations applicable to natural history collections care, the Citations Subcommittee continues to build a listing of publications relevant to natural history collections.

Citations were previously presented as a series of pdfs, issued annually; the new library includes all of these references as well as more recent ones with the oldest references from 1977. The Citations Subcommittee has moved the library from EndNote to Zotero, which can be accessed online by any SPNHC member without an account (https://www.zotero.org/groups/2077962/spnhc/items). Users can download individual citations or results of searchers in various citation styles. Zotero has support for 9,000 citation styles, so work can be formatted to match any style guide or publication. Citations have been tagged with keywords, and future work by the Citations Subcommittee will include additional keywords to assist in locating citations for specific topics. The Citations Subcommittee will continue to add to the Zotero library by importing new references as they are published. Only those members with Zotero accounts have the ability to add citations, but the SPNHC subcommittee hopes to identify mechanisms by which the greater SPNHC membership can more easily contribute.
